The Passover story and ritual is so rich. Every year I feel pulled to a different piece of it. This year it’s the hidden matzoh. Which echoes the hidden Easter eggs. Both of these spring rituals urge us to seek. Seek and yee shall find.
I mean without seeking sometimes you do stumble on something amazing. It is great to stay open. And honor receiving in that way. But the finding that comes from the seeking. And especially seeking that which is HIDDEN is somehow the most rewarding.
I think because it encourages us to to seek the truly hidden. The heart’s deepest desires. The most intimate connections to other people - to the highest of high - to the meaning - to the metaphysical intimate experience of life.
When the sea parts - it doesn’t do it because some folx were casually hanging out at the beach wondering if maybe the sea might open. And hey do you have any snacks? The sea parted because of the seeking of a way. Because of the matzoh. The urgency.
The urgency to experience freedom. To seek it urgently. Especially now. This is the part of the story that compels me this year.
Hag Semeach my friends.
